Common mistakes
- Using 2.5 instead of 2.54. The error grows with the size: 180 cm comes out as 72 in instead of 70.87 in.
- Writing 5.9 ft for 5 ft 10.87 in. Decimal feet and feet-and-inches are not the same thing (5.9 ft is 5 ft 10.8 in).
- Treating a screen's size as its width. TV and monitor sizes are measured corner to corner.
